What is an Industrial Electrician?
An industrial electrician, such as JMAC Electrical Services Inc. is a certified and insured trade responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial electrical equipment, systems, and controls. In an industrial setting, an industrial electrician’s work focuses on equipment and components directly and tangentially related to electrical power. This includes motors, generators, pump systems, and of course lighting systems.
What Training is Required to Become an Industrial Electrician?
Industrial Electricians ensure various levels of in-class theoretical training as well as several stages of on-the-job practical training. This includes a period of apprenticeship where a certified worker or trainer is present to ensure the standards of the industrial electrician trade are properly instilled in the trainee. The apprenticeship portion requires 8160 hours of on-the-job training and 840 hours of in-class training.
